First responder

We at Cross Power want to show our support for our First Responders who have been under attack lately. We want to make a public stand through the creation of our First Responder colored survival bracelets. Show the world that Christians are going to back these fine men and women in prayer and support.  Wear and share one of these bracelets.

What Are YOU Thankful For?

Cross Power Thanksgiving 2014

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, it can be easy to get caught up in the chaos of the season! Many of you have meals to plan, extended family to visit, and decorations to put up. Then to top all that off, Thanksgiving tends to mark the beginning of the shopping season, which can bring even more stress and anxiety. With everything going on, it can be hard to remember what we should be really thankful for, particularly as Christians. However, it can really help to take a break to think about the blessings in your own life.

Take a second to read through some of the big things you can be thankful for during this season, and then write down some of your own reasons. You’ll be surprised by how much better your day may seem afterwards!

 1. God and everything He does for us.

This is the biggest thing that we have to grateful for. The Bible is filled with admonitions to be thankful, always encouraging Christians to pray and gives thanks in everything. Of course, God’s greatest gift to us is the sacrifice of Jesus – “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (2nd Corinthians 9:15). As Christians, if we don’t start with focusing on Jesus, then the rest of our priorities are going to be out of order.

 2. Our loved ones

The holidays can be a difficult time for many people who may not have their immediate families, but we all have those around us who we love, even if there are only a few. Take some time out of your schedule this week to make sure that the people who are special in your life know that they’re loved! Even go a step further and show some extra love to those who may not be able to be with their own families this Thanksgiving. A surprise visit, an invitation to your own holiday meal, or a cup of coffee can go a long way.

3. Our religious freedom

Though our country may go through many challenges, we should always remember how blessed we are to be living in a country where we’re allowed to openly practice and celebrate our beliefs. The original pilgrims came here to escape religious persecution, and part of what Thanksgiving celebrates is that God provided the opportunity for them to found a new country here. This is something we should never take for granted, especially as we keep in mind the suffering that Christians around the world face every day.

At the end of the day, Thanksgiving shouldn’t be about the pumpkin pies, turkey, and football games – although we all enjoy those things too! So this year, instead of letting yourself get bogged down in the details or distracted by flashy holiday advertisements, take the time to focus on what’s important. It’s a great time to break out old family traditions – or even invent some new ones! Leave a comment with your favorite things to be thankful for this year, or your favorite family traditions.

And have a Happy Thanksgiving, from everyone here at Cross Power!

Sharing Your Faith During Halloween

Sharing your faith during Halloween

It’s October, and for many of us that means that Halloween is right around the corner! Although Halloween can be a controversial holiday, it can also be a good opportunity for family fun and a great witnessing opportunity. After all, how many times a year will you get to greet so many people in one night? Check out some of our witnessing tools below and see if you can use any to share your faith during Halloween!

1. Give candy with a message

We all know that Halloween candy is what kids really look forward to every year. This year however, why not give out some substance with all the sugar? Simply print out small Bible verses or encouraging messages and attach them to the candy you’ll be passing out to trick-or-treaters. This is a simple way to mix in your faith with the Halloween festivities.

 2. Get festive with faith-centered goodies

Even if you don’t dress up for Halloween, there are still ways to show your faith while joining in the fun. Christian pumpkin temporary tattoos, Cross Power Decals, or Salvation bracelets can be fun to either wear as a family or even pass out to neighborhood kids! They can also be used as a way to start a conversation about your faith with younger kids.

3. Have a chat about what frightens you

Halloween is a holiday during which people love to get spooked – which provides a perfect opportunity for you to have a discussion with a friend about what frightens you the most, in both this world and the next! While people may be less open to talking about these topics most of the year, Halloween can provide a great opportunity for naturally starting these conversations. Address your fears and then talk about how your faith helps you deal with them.

4. Host A Party

Many people worry about their kids wandering around outside on Halloween. A great way to be a witness to your neighborhood and have fun is to host a Halloween or fall fun party! You or a group of your neighbors can put together a family event with fall activities like a costume contest, bobbing for apples, and making s’mores. You can even decorate pumpkins with faith-centered messages. Not only can you serve your neighborhood this way, but it can provide you with many opportunities to share God.

Have a fun and safe holiday this year, and see how you can share your faith!

Top 5 Unique Travel Mugs

For many people, no morning is complete without coffee. But with work, school, and running errands around town, it’s hard to find the time to sit down at home to enjoy it! Luckily there are travel mugs – I know I’ve got a cabinet full of them! I’ve rounded up some of my favorite unique travel mugs from around the web. Maybe you’ll find your new favorite here too!

1. I love the Sin 2 Salvation travel mug. Not only is it durable and stylish, but it’s also a great way to share the Gospel. The mug, which starts out black, turns red when hot liquid is poured into it, representing the blood of Christ. It’s easy to use as a conversation starter and a really fun way to enjoy your morning coffee.

2. Do you or someone you know love science? This mug just might be for you then. The caffeine molecule travel mug is a stainless steel tumbler with the molecular structure of caffeine printed on the outside. Take this mug to school to impress your chemistry teacher, or just use it as a handy reference for what exactly you’re drinking!

3.  Or perhaps you are a Dr. Who fan. This mug is a mini replica of the eleventh doctor’s TARDIS. It’s not really a travel mug per se, but it does have a nifty removable top. Definitely one of our favorite unique travel mugs!

4.  If you’re a camera buff, you’ll definitely want to check out the Canon camera lens mug. You can now drink coffee out of your favorite lens. What better way to combine two of your favorite things? Plus, you’ll probably enjoy a double-take or two when people see what you’re drinking out of. And if you’re more of a Nikon-person, they have those lenses available as mugs as well.

5. Depending on how serious you are about your coffee, this could be the perfect mug for you. The Hot Rod heated travel mug not only holds your coffee for the road, but it also heats it up as well! We’ve all experienced the disappointment of taking coffee on our commute only to have it go cold before we reach our destination. This mug is great because it plugs into your car’s cigarette lighter and keeps your morning brew warm and ready-to-go. The great retro look is an added bonus.

5 Creative Ways to Share Your Faith

Five Creative Ways to Share Your faith

Are you looking for some creative ways to share the Gospel, but don’t really know where to get started? You’re definitely not alone – sharing your faith with others, even people close to you, can be an intimidating thought! However, there are a variety of Christian products and simple, free techniques that can help you share your faith. Below we’ve listed five approaches you can use to break the ice and get a conversation started.

1. Look around any coffee shop, restaurant, or sidewalk these days, and you’re likely to see a large percentage of people on their smartphones or tablets. We’re obsessed! However, there are a handful of apps that help you turn your tech into a creative way to share the gospel. The Roman Road app walks you through the process of explaining the basics of salvation. Soularium, which uses images as a way to help someone express their beliefs, is another interactive app that you can use as a great conversation starter. There are a variety of applications for your phone or tablet that can help you in your journey to share your faith.

2. One simple way to share your faith is by using a salvation bracelet! These great pieces of jewelry have five beads of different colors, each color representing a different step in the process of coming to faith. You can check out this page from Cross Power that shows the meaning of the salvation bracelet colors. As you walk someone through the process, you can use the bracelet as a fun visual guide. Though you may be familiar with the bracelets you may have made in Sunday school, we have salvation jewelry with a slightly updated look. Though these high-end creative pieces seem similar to charm bracelets, they have the potential for a much more profound impact.

3. Are you a sports fan? Chances are, there’s a talented athlete (or several!) in your favorite sport that is also very public about their faith. The next time you have some friends over watching the game, bring up a Christian athlete you like and discuss how you admire their openness about their faith. Ask your unsaved friends for their opinions, and see where the conversation takes you.

4. Do you want to share your faith, but you don’t feel comfortable telling your story face-to-face? Then check out whativaluemost.com, a great online resource. This innovative website allows you to write down your testimony and post it online. Then it gives you a link to share your story among your friends, family, and others! You can even put the link to your story on small business cards and pass them out to people that you meet. Take some time to look at the website and discover other stories of faith and redemption, then add your own!

5. In the end, the most effective way that you can share the gospel is to build healthy and loving relationships with those around you. Take the time to really get to know those around you. Offer to help out with their yard work, watch their kids, or take them out for lunch. If the people around you first see your faith in action, then they’re much more likely to listen to your testimony. Showing people God’s love is the greatest tool you can have.

Driving thru Tupelo, MS a few weeks ago, I stopped to get gas. I was close to a lady that was also at the pumps and noticed she seemed upset. I approached her and asked if I could help. She immediately noticed the Cross on my bracelet and asked if I was a Christian. I proudly told her “yes”. She told me of her life and issues and kids. I shared with her God’s love and asked if I could hook her up with a local preacher to minister to her. Luckily I knew one and called while she was there and made the connection. I found out 2 weeks after that with a phone call from the minister, that that lady and her 2 children were at church Sunday and she is starting to take steps to change her life. All of this due to her seeing the Cross Power on my bracelet. Bracelet didn’t save, but opened a door and question that God allowed me to walk thru.

I would just like to take this moment to share with you one of the most exciting things that has ever happened to me! I was sitting in a restaurant when a lady came in and asked a manager for an application for a job. The lady noticed my phone sitting on the table, and asked about my phone case, which is a Cross Power Iphone case. I let her pick up my phone to get a good look at the case and I noticed she was wearing a cross necklace. I told her how pretty her cross was, at that moment she notice my Cross Power survivor bracelet and power band. She commented on how nice all three of the items I had were.

At that time she proceeded to tell me that she wished someone could talk to her husband about God! He was not a believer in Christ. At that instant I became very concerned about her husband’s soul, a man that I have never met, but one that I knew I had to meet. She and I sat in the restaurant for the next 30 minutes talking about how long eternity was, and that she must get me in contact with her husband. So, I could share with him the love of our Savior Jesus Christ. We exchanged phone numbers, and she said she would try to get him to meet with me that afternoon.

Two hours later, I received a phone call, and this lady was wanting to bring her husband and met with me, and so then we met. Her husband said he didn’t believe in God, but he wanted to believe in God, and that he done a lot of bad things in his life, that he just didn’t know if he could forgive himself, much less the Lord for him. We talked for nearly two hours that afternoon, about forgiveness, love that Christ has for us, and about eternity, and if he really understood what eternity meant. I told him I would get him in contact with my pastor so he could counsel to him.

A day later I get a call from the wife, wanting to me with me, and we met. At that time the husband said he had been praying and wanted to be saved. He asked if I could save him, and I told him God was the only one that could save him. At that moment we all three held hands, and I began to pray with them. As we were praying he asked the Lord for forgiveness, and that he wanted to give his heart, soul and life to God. It was a very emotional moment for myself as we as the couple. Before they left I gave him my Cross Power survival bracelet. A week later they called and wanted to met and say hi, and to tell me that they gotten in a church, and the husband once again gave his life to Christ.

This could have never happened if it wouldn’t have been for the Cross Power phone case setting on a restaurant table. I don’t care if I ever make a penny in this business, the experience I had with a witnessing tool, of a simple phone case is priceless.

A sweet lady in the nursing home had been taking care of her handicapped and abusive husband for several years. Her body finally gave in and she had a stroke. She told me as soon as she was released to go home she planned on killing herself because she was no good to anyone in her condition. We talked and she knew Jesus but was just so tired and wanted to end it all. I went back later and took her a Cross Power ion band and prayed with her. We talked a while and she started crying and said I’ll always wear this bracelet as a reminder that my Lord loves me so that I won’t give up.
